SUNSHINE THRIFT WITH GET RID TERMS OF SERVICE

OVERVIEW

These terms of service (terms) outline to you the rules of using Get Rid with Sunshine Thrift (the service) for you to sell your unwanted women's clothing, accessories and footwear and homewares ("Items", "Item") to Sunshine Thrift ("we", "us" and "our") in exchange for payment via PayPal transfer, Sunshine Thrift vouchers or a donation to your chosen charity (charitable donation). You do this by creating a Get Rid order (Order) on our website. Using the information provided by you on your Order, we will provide you with a Get Rid valuation for your Items within 24 hours. Your final Get Rid value (value) depends solely on what we receive. If the Item(s) you return are different in anyway to what was approved on your Order, we will adjust your valuation for your Value. To use this service you must accept these terms of service. Do not use this service if you do not accept these terms.

SUMMARY OF TERMS

Sunshine Thrift reserves the right to approve or reject your Item(s) based on the information provided by you on your Order.

If you send Item(s) which do not adhere to our Get rid guidelines, you are in breach of the Terms laid out

You are solely responsible for providing accurate Item information on your Order and returning Item(s) which adhere to our terms.

You will not receive payment for Item(s) which you have sent that, on inspection by us, do not adhere to the Terms. A £5.00 admin fee will be deducted from your final Get Rid valuation should you return Item(s) which do not adhere to our Terms. Our Terms include the Get Rid guidelines. 

We cannot return any Item(s) to you once you have sent them.

We are not liable for any damages or losses incurred during the return of your Item(s) and any compensation issued is solely at our discretion.

We are not liable for any lost funds caused by incorrect payment information provided by you.

Sunshine Thrift reserves the right to limit, restrict or deny The Service from any user or prospective user at anytime without explanation.

SECTION 2 - CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We reserve the right to amend these terms when required so that they accurately reflect any changes in our operation of The Service or how we operate our business.

SECTION 3 - YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS

Before creating your Order you will be prompted to confirm your acceptance to these Terms. We strongly advise reading these Terms prior to raising your Get Rid order, regardless of how many previous Get Rid orders you have raised, to ensure you understand the latest version of these Terms. By creating a Get Rid order you accept these Terms. By returning your Items, you accept these Terms. These Terms include the Get Rid guidelines.

SECTION 4 - GET RID GUIDELINES

Prior to creating your Get Rid order, we strongly advise that you read our Get Rid guidelines outlined in these Terms. The guidelines outline which Items we accept as part of The Service. We do not accept all Items. It is your responsibility to understand our guidelines prior to creating every Get Rid order.

4.1. WHAT ITEMS YOU CAN RETURN

We reserve the right to add or remove Items from these lists with no prior notification.

  • Small clocks up to (up to 30cm diameter)
  • Small rugs (must be foldable into 40cm x 40cm)
  • Throws (must be foldable into 40cm x 40cm)
  • True vintage home decor

4.2. WHAT ITEMS YOU CANNOT RETURN

We reserve the right to add or remove Items from these lists with no prior notification.

  • Items that you do not have the authority to sell

If your item appears on this list, your item will not be accepted for Get Rid.

If you send us an item which appears on this list, you will not be paid for this item and a £5.00 admin fee will be deducted from your final Get Rid value for our handling of this item.

If your item appears on this list, your item will not be accepted for Get Rid.

If you send us an item which appears on this list, you will not be paid for this item and a £5.00 admin fee will be deducted from your final Get Rid value for our handling of this item.

    4.3. BRANDS

    We do not have a list of brands we accept for Get Rid. This allows us to accept a wider variety of brands and introduce new brands to our customers. We do have a list of brands which we will not accept under any circumstance

    If your item doesn't appear on the list below, we are not obliged to accept your item and we can reject any item we deem unacceptable for Get Rid.

    If your brand does not appear on this list, it may still be rejected for Get Rid as this is ever changing.

    To give you an idea of the brands we are looking for, see the list below. We are not obliged to accept your item if the brand appears on this list, as this list is for guidance only.

    We assess your Get Rid order on a case by case basis so cannot confirm in advance whether your item(s) would be accepted or rejected.

    If your item appears on the list of brands we do not accept. your item will not be accepted for Get Rid.

    If you send us an item which appears on the list of brands we do not accept, you will not be paid for this item and a £5.00 admin fee will be deducted from your final Get Rid value for our handling of this item.

    Sunshine Thrift reserves the right to approve or reject any item on an Order if the information provided is incorrect or that the item does not adhere to our Get Rid guidelines.

    4.4. FEES DEDUCTED

    If you send any Item(s) that have been rejected on your Order or they do not adhere to our Get Rid guidelines you will not receive payment for these items. We will also deduct a £5.00 admin fee from your Get Rid final value for the handling of these Items. We will responsibly dispose of these Items through an appropriate recycling or donation channel.

    4.5. AUTHENTICITY

    We reserve the right to request proof of brand authenticity of your Item. Should you be unable to provide the required authenticity, we will reject your Item on your Order. Should you continue to send this Item alongside approved items in your Order, you will not receive payment for this Item and you will be charged a £5.00 admin fee for our handling of this Item.

    SECTION 5 - ITEM CONDITION

    5.1. CONDITION GUIDELINES 

    The condition of your item greatly impacts our ability to give it a new home. At Sunshine Thrift, we want to introduce second hand shopping to those who currently find it a step too far outside of their comfort zone. To do this, we ensure that all of our items are in excellent condition, as if they were brand new.

    Before creating your Get Rid order, we want you to understand what our condition guidelines are. You can then use these guidelines to check if your items are suitable for Get Rid. We use these same condition guidelines when inspecting the items you send us.

    You are responsible for thoroughly checking the condition of your item prior to sending it to us. To do this we advise that you check the item in bright, natural light. 

    We have two condition categories:

    New with tags

    The item has its original tags still in tact and has never been worn.

    Worn with no signs of wear

    The item may have been worn once or twice but there is no evidence of this.

    Condition checklist

    We do not accept items that display any of the below faults, whether they are new with tags or worn with no signs of wear.

    • Stains
    • Pulls
    • Bobbling
    • Marks
    • Scuffs
    • Wear and tear
    • Washed out care label
    • Illegible care label
    • Care label has been cut out
    • Brand label has been cut out

    If your item displays any of the above faults, your item will not be accepted for Get Rid.

    If you send us an item which displays any of the above faults, you will not be paid for this item and a £5.00 admin fee will be deducted from your final Get Rid value for our handling of this item.

    If you are still unsure if your item is in acceptable condition, it is likely that it isn’t. We only want items that look and feel brand new.

      Homeware condition

      New with tags

      The item has its original tags or packaging still in tact and has never been used.

      Used with no signs of use

      The item may have been used once or twice but there is no evidence of this.

      Condition checklist

      We do not accept items that display any of the below faults, whether they are new with tags or used with no signs of use.

      If you send us an item which displays any of the above faults, you will not be paid for this item and a £5.00 admin fee will be deducted from your final Get Rid value for our handling of this item.

                                  5.2. CHECKING THE CONDITION OF YOUR ITEM

                                  You are responsible for thoroughly checking the condition of your Item prior to returning it to us. To do this we advise that you check the Item in bright, natural light. 

                                  5.3. FEES DEDUCTED

                                  Should you return any Items which do not meet our condition guidelines, you will not receive payment for this item. We will also deduct a £5.00 admin fee from your final Get Rid value for the handling of these Items. We will responsibly dispose of these Items through an appropriate recycling or donation channel.

                                  5.4. QUALITY CONTROL

                                  When your Items arrive back with us, we have 72 hours to thoroughly inspect your item to check if it adheres to the approved items on your Order and our Get Rid guidelines. We reserve the right to reject your Item(s) or adjust the value of your Item(s) based on this inspection. You will be notified of this in your final Get Rid value email confirmation.

                                  SECTION 6 - CREATING A GET RID ORDER

                                  6.1. ACCEPTANCE OF THESE TERMS

                                  By creating an Order you are adhering to these Terms and are expected to adhere to the Get Rid guidelines laid out above. 

                                  6.2. ITEM INFORMATION

                                  You can create your Get Rid order here. When you create an Order, you are required to provide; a short description, brand, condition, size and an image of your Item. We use this information to provide you with a valuation for your Items. You are solely responsible for the depth and accuracy of information provided by you on your Order. This information provided by you determines the valuation we provide you for your Items. Prior to creating your Order you are invited to check our Item values here. This can provide you with indicative value for your Item. These values are purely indicative and are designed to give you a rough idea of what to expect from your Get Rid valuation. We have used a wide array of brands and price points to show how your valuation will vary depending on the brand and item. 

                                  6.3. WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION

                                  The information provided by you (a short description, brand, condition, size and image of your Item) are held within our Order database so that we can refer back to it when your Items arrive with us. If you decide not to proceed with returning your Items, we will retain this information for 6 months before securely discarding it. This information will not be used for any purpose other than the actions required by us to provide you with The Service.

                                  6.4. RAISING YOUR ORDER

                                  When raising your Order, once you have filled out the information for each Item you should add it to your bag and checkout as you would with a regular purchase. This Order will be zero value and we do not require any card details. 

                                  6.5. APPROVAL OR REJECTION

                                  Within 24 hours of you creating your Get Rid order, we will review the information provided by you. We will contact you via email to notify you if any or all of the Items on your Order have been approved for The Service. We will approve or reject your Items based on the information and quality of the image provided by you. We will not contact you for additional information or another photo, unless for authenticity purposes. If the information provided by you is not understandable and the image is unclear, we will reject your Item(s) on the basis that we cannot verify whether or not it meets our Get Rid guidelines. We reserve the right to reject any Item(s) which does not adhere to our Get Rid guidelines laid out in these Terms.

                                  In your email notification we will provide you with a valuation for your Item(s) based on the information provided by you. This valuation is valid for 30 days. After your valuation has expired, we will issue you with a new valuation should you request one having not proceeded with the original valuation.

                                  If we have approved your Item(s) you will be invited, via email, to order a Get Rid mailer bag so that you can return your approved Item(s) free or charge.

                                  SECTION 7 - RETURNING YOUR ITEMS

                                  7.1. MAILER BAG

                                  You will need to raise an order on our website for your Get Rid mailer bag. You are restricted to one mailer bag. The cost of a mailer bag is £1.50. This cost includes any delivery fees. This cost is refunded via your chosen Get Rid payment method once you return your Items to us. See section 9.5.1 for more information on the refund of your Get Rid mailer bag. Your mailer bag is despatched to you the next working day via Royal Mail on a second class untracked service. Your mailer can take up to one week to arrive with you.

                                  7.2. FILLING YOUR MAILER BAG 

                                  Fill your mailer bag with the approved Items on your Order. Do not return any Items which have not been approved or do not adhere to the Get Rid guidelines. You are responsible for securely sealing your mailer bag, ensuring that all contents are not susceptible to damage during transit. If we have approved Item(s) which could be at risk during transit we will have assessed this risk when reviewing your Order and we will have provided you with additional protective packaging for you to use on these Item(s)at no additional cost. Should you return these at risk items without the use of the protective packaging provided and they arrive damaged we will not pay you for these Item(s).

                                  7.3. RETURNING YOUR FILLED MAILER BAG

                                  Once you have filled your mailer bag and you are ready to return it to us, use the QR code provided on the leaflet in with your Get Rid mailer bag to fill out a form notifying us that your Order is ready to be returned. You can also do it hereWe require; your name, email address you use for your Order, your Order number and postcode. Using this information we will send you a pre-paid Yodel QR returns code for you to use at your local Yodel drop off point. We will send you this to the email address provided in the form. Take this QR code to your local Yodel drop off point to return your Item(s). Please ensure that the label printed by the store clerk is applied correctly to your filled mailer bag and is not at risk of falling off during transit.

                                  You will be able to track your Item(s) return using the tracking provided by us. Your Item(s) are returned via Yodel on a 2-3 working day service.

                                  Do not use any other packaging to return your Item(s). 

                                  7.4. LOST OR DAMAGED RETURN MAILER BAG

                                  Sunshine Thrift are not liable for any damages or losses incurred by the carrier when your Item(s) are being returned to us. In the unlikely event that this does occur, we will work with you to find an appropriate resolution. We may choose to issue compensation, but this is entirely at our discretion. When making a claim for lost or damaged Item(s), please provide proof of postage. We cannot process any compensation without proof or postage.

                                  If you have returned your Item(s) in any packaging other than the mailer bag provided we will not issue compensation in any circumstance.

                                  SECTION 8 - GETTING PAID

                                  8.1. CHOOSING A PAYMENT METHOD

                                  When raising your order for your Get Rid mailer bag you are required to confirm how you would like to receive payment for your Order. You have a choice of three options; cash payment via PayPal to your nominated PayPal account, Sunshine Thrift vouchers or a donation to your chosen charity. Depending on the payment method you choose, you will be required to provide additional information when before purchasing your Get Rid mailer bag.

                                  8.1.1 Cash via PayPal

                                  Your final Get Rid value payment is made via a transfer via PayPal to your nominated PayPal account. When choosing your payment method you are required to confirm your nominated PayPal account email address. This is the account you wish to receive the funds into. The PayPal account provided by you must be a live PayPal account in your name. Should you fail to confirm your nomination PayPal email address, we will make two attempts (one by email and one by phone) to contact you and retrieve this information. If after two attempts we are unable to obtain this information from you, we will cancel your Order. 

                                  You will receive the full value of your approved Get Rid order into your nominated PayPal account within 24 hours of your final Get Rid value email.

                                  If you do not have a PayPal account or are unwilling to create one, you are required to choose another payment method if you choose to continue with your Order.

                                  8.1.2 Sunshine Thrift vouchers

                                  Payment for your item(s) via Sunshine Thrift vouchers is worth 15% more in value than cash via PayPal and donation to charity. Your final Get Rid value will be increased by 15% should you choose this as your payment method. Within 24 hours of you receiving your final Get Rid value, we will send you your unique voucher code via email to the email address provided on your Order. This voucher is redeemable for 1 year and can be used on any Item. 

                                  8.1.3 Donation to charity

                                  Should you choose Charitable Donation as your chosen payment method when ordering your Get Rid mailer bag, you are required to provide the name of the charity and the charity number if you have it available. Having this additional information helps us get the money to your charity much faster. Donations are made anonymously via the PayPal Giving Fund. There are no charges incurred by your charity for accepting this donation. When making this donation on your behalf we are governed by the terms and conditions of the PayPal Giving Fund. Your charity does not need to be registered with the PayPal Giving Fund at the time of the donation but them not being registered severely delays them receiving the donation.

                                  We will process your donation within 24 hours of your final Get Rid value email. We will send you an email confirming that the donation has been made, with proof of the donation. Please be aware it can take anywhere between 15-90 days for your charity to receive your donation. We are at the liberty of the PayPal Giving Fund lead time and we cannot speed up this process.

                                  8.2. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

                                  In any event following, Sunshine Thrift are not liable for any lost funds and will not work with you to retrieve any lost funds;

                                  9.2.1 You have provided us with an incorrect or invalid PayPal email address

                                  9.2.2 You have not provided us with a PayPal email address after the two attempts made by us to obtain this information.

                                  9.2.3 You have provided us with an invalid or incorrect email address when raising your Order and therefore have not received your Sunshine Thrift voucher.

                                  9.2.4 You have provided us with an invalid or incorrect charity name or number

                                  9.2.5 PayPal have frozen your account and you are unable to accept the funds you received from The Service

                                  9.2.6 The Item(s) you have sent do not adhere to the Get Rid guidelines and are therefore in breach of these Terms

                                  8.3. PAYMENTS ARE FINAL

                                  Payment made by us via any chosen payment method are final and cannot be changed. Your final Get Rid value is non-negotiable and cannot be changed even if payment has not yet been made.

                                  Your Get Rid payment method cannot be changed once you have sent your filled Get Rid mailer bag. To change your payment method prior to sending your filled mailer bag, get in touch via email. In your email, please confirm your Get Rid order number and your new chosen payment method.

                                  8.4. ALTERNATIVE PAYMENT METHODS

                                  We only offer the three payment methods outlined above. We cannot and will not process your payment via any other payment method, such as bank transfer, refund to your original payment method, vouchers or otherwise.

                                  8.5. FINAL GET RID VALUE

                                  Payment made by us via any chosen payment method are final and cannot be changed. Your final Get Rid value is non-negotiable and cannot be changed even if payment has not yet been made. Your final Get Rid value is solely dependant on the Items you send us, regardless of the valuation we provided based on the information on your Order. 

                                  8.5.1 MAILER BAG

                                  In the event that you have returned your approved Item(s) in the mailer bag, we will refund the cost of £1.50 for your mailer bag via your chosen payment method. This refund cannot be made back to your original payment method. We will only refund you the cost of your Get Rid mailer if your returned Item(s) are approved items. We will not refund you for your mailer bag if you return only rejected Items or Items which do not adhere to our Get Rid guidelines.

                                  8.6 FEES DEDUCTED

                                  In any of the following events we will deduct a £5.00 admin fee from your final Get Rid value. This is a non-negotiable, fixed fee per Order. You will also not receive payment for Items in any of the following events.;

                                  9.6.1 You return Item(s) which do not adhere to our Get Rid guidelines and are therefore in breach of these Terms

                                  9.6.2 You return Item(s) which are not of at least 'worn/used with no signs of wear/use' condition, therefore they do not adhere to our Get Rid guidelines and you are therefore in breach of these Terms

                                  9.6.3 You return Item(s) which are not on our approved Item(s) list therefore they do not adhere to our Get Rid guidelines and you are therefore in breach of these Terms

                                  9.6.4 You return Item(s) which required authenticity proof and you have not provided this therefore they do not adhere to our Get Rid guidelines and you are therefore in breach of these Terms

                                  9.6.5 You have mislead us by providing information about an Item(s) on your Order but the Item(s) which arrives does not align with this information therefore they do not adhere to our Get Rid guidelines and you are therefore in breach of these Terms

                                  9.6.6 You have sent Item(s) which we rejected on your Order

                                  9.6.7 You have sent us Item(s) to the contrary of your agreement to the Terms laid out

                                  We will responsibly dispose of these Items through an appropriate recycling or donation channel.

                                  8.7 REPEAT OFFENSE

                                  In the event that you return Item(s) which are contrary to your agreement to the Terms laid out on more than one occasion, Sunshine Thrift reserves the right to decline all future Orders from you. In extreme cases, we reserve the right to cancel your account all together.

                                  8.8 ITEM(S) RETURNED TO YOU

                                  We cannot return any items which you return to us through The Service. Once you have shipped your items, they cannot be returned to you, even if they are still en route to us. Your Get Rid final value is non-negotiable and cannot be changed. We cannot return any of your items if you are unhappy with your final value. We will send you valuation for your items once you raise your Get Rid order. Before returning your Get Rid items, you should review this valuation to ensure that you are happy with it. The accuracy of this valuation is solely dependent on the accuracy of the information provided by you on your Order.

                                  SECTION 9 - WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR ITEM(S)

                                  By agreeing to these Terms for this Service, you agree to Sunshine Thrift reselling your Item(s) on their website at selling price determined solely by them. You are not at liberty to contact Sunshine Thrift about their selling costs of your Item(s) and we retain the right to withhold any information from you with regards to our selling prices. Once your Item(s) are returned to us and you have received payment, including events laid out in section 8.2, these Item(s) are now owned by Sunshine Thrift.

                                  SECTION 10 - LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

                                  We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking our contract with you.
                                  We are not liable for business losses. We have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
                                  We are not liable for any losses, or any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations under the Agreement, due to any actions beyond our control including, but not limited to, fire, flood, theft, strikes, work stoppages, accidents, acts of war or terrorism, civil or military disturbances, nuclear or natural catastrophes, loss or malfunctions or utilities, communications or computer (software and hardware) services.

                                  SECTION 11 - THE SERVICE

                                  The Service is provided to you at no additional cost. Sunshine Thrift reserves the right to withhold, stop, or restrict availability to The Service for business or operational reasons that we are not at liberty to share with you. Sunshine Thrift also reserves the right to limit, restrict or deny The Service from any user or prospective user at anytime without explanation. We cannot guarantee that The Service will not be interrupted or always available. If we choose to stop The Service for an extended period of time determined by us, we will notify you via the email on your account.

                                  Sunshine Thrift reserves the right at any time to prevent you or from using The Service.

                                  You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access the Store through your internet connection are aware of these Terms and that they comply with them.

                                  SECTION 12 - GENERAL TERMS

                                  • Nobody else has any rights under the Terms. The Terms are between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms. 

                                  • You need our consent to transfer your rights to someone else. You may only transfer your rights or obligations under the Terms to another person if we agree to this in writing.

                                  • The Terms can only be varied by written agreement between us and you. No variation of the Terms is effective unless in writing and signed by the parties or their authorised representatives.

                                  13.1 DELAYS

                                  In the event of a delay to your order caused by an event outside of our control we will notify you of the delay and act immediately to reduce the delay. Provided we do this, we are not liable for delays incurred by the event.

                                  13.2 LOSSES

                                  Your parcel is considered 'lost' by the carrier in any of the following events;

                                  You have chosen standard delivery and 7 working days has passed since the expected delivery date and your order has not been delivered to the address on the order,

                                  You have chosen express delivery and 3 working days has passed since the expected delivery date and your order has not been delivered to the address on the order.

                                  Sunshine Thrift is not liable for any lost parcels which have been delivered to the wrong address as a result you incorrectly inputting the address on your order. Sunshine Thrift will work with you and the carrier to rectify this, but offers no guarantee this will lead to your parcel being found.

                                  In the unlikely event that your parcel is lost by the carrier, subject to the above statements, we will issue you a full refund for your order.

                                  13.3 DAMAGES

                                  By using any third party carrier service employed by Sunshine Thrift, you are required to inspect any parcels on delivery for noticeable damage. Any parcels with signs of damage to the parcel itself or the item(s) inside, should not be accepted. The parcel will be returned to sender. If you notice damage to the parcel or item during delivery and sign for it damaged, you cannot return the item and Sunshine Thrift will not refund you for your order or any costs incurred as a result of accepting a damaged parcel.

                                  Any damages to the parcel or your order should be reported to Sunshine Thrift within the 14 day returns window. Once this window has passed Sunshine Thrift is not liable for any costs incurred for the damaged item(s).

                                  In the unlikely event that your item is damaged as a result of carrier negligence, Sunshine Thrift will refund you the full cost of your order. This is subject to you reporting the damage within the 14 day returns window.

                                  SECTION 14 - PRICING

                                  Wherever possible we will provide the most accurate RRP for each item. In some cases, this may be an estimation based on similar items currently being sold by that particular retailer. The RRPs which we provide are to be used for purely informational purposes and should not be relied upon. We reserve the right to update the RRP on a saleable item if we believe it to be wholly inaccurate based on new information which may have come to light.

                                  We intend to offer a consistent pricing model throughout our website. Our prices are set based on several factors such as RRP and the value of that item at that time across other markets. We reserve the right to amend our pricing model at any time without notification. Any changes to our pricing model would be implemented on products not for sale at the time of the change.
